Barefoot Ashiatsu Massage (SARGA)
In the Japanese language “Ashi” translates to foot and “Atsu” means pressure. Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique in which the therapist delivers compressive, broad, consistent pressure while utilizing their feet and body weight. Working with gravity instead of against it, Ashiatsu therapists are able to provide an effective therapeutic massage without causing pain or discomfort to themselves or the receiving client.
If you are in need of deep tissue or myofascial work, but don’t enjoy the discomfort that comes with pointy elbows and thumbs, then Ashiatsu is the treatment for you! Gravity enables Ashiatsu therapists to deliver up to 3x deeper pressure than with traditional hands-on treatments. Utilizing the broad surface of my foot as my massage tool provides consistent pressure and contours nicely to the body. Movements along the para spinals and the lumbar region can relieve muscle spasms and open the intervertebral foramen (where spinal nerves pass through).

My Signature Style
In an Ashiatsu session with me, my table is placed directly on the ground, while I hold myself up with a fabric (Sarga) silk strap. I use one foot at a time on the body to deliver very slow, consistent, compressive strokes. I still use my hands to apply cream and massage the neck and feet. Reiki is always infused in my touch and sometimes I will add crystals or tuning forks into the session. Stretching is included and Cupping Therapy can be added on for an additional charge. No matter what your needs are, I tailor my massage to work for you.
